![]() These are the days of sinus and allergies. If you ear candle as part of your business, or even just for your friends and family, now is the busiest time of year. Most of my clients for the next few months will have lots of gunk coming out of their ears. The wax and toxins will be thicker and darker, which is great news for those of us in the natural health field. I love helping people get healthy in a natural way....that is my passion. I have ear candled literally thousands of people's ears over the past 15 years or so and still am amazed and awed by this wonderful, natural modality. I was googling our website today, and I am so astounded by the various ear candles there are out there being made now. When I started Inner Light Connection back in 1994, there were very few other businesses alongside of ours. Alas, most of the candles that are being made today are not up to standards, are not being made properly, therefore they don't work properly. This saddens me. I don't really blame people for buying something for .99 cents vs. 2.80 (plain)...but the proof is in what comes out of the client, how the client feels, and the experience in general. After many years, I have decided that most things of quality might cost a bit more, but they perform better, last longer, and generally look better to boot. Many people buy clothes at Wal-Mart, figuring they are cheaper. The problem is...they don't last very long. I buy shirts there that last just one season. Now, for my ear candling practice, I do buy clothing at Wal-Mart and other budget stores, simply because I will only wear for 6 months or so, since there is wax or other debris on the clothing, and I need to throw out. But if I am buying clothing for myself to go out in...I will go to Dilliard's, Lord and Taylor and the like. The clothes from there last me 10+ years, therefore each wearing is much cheaper than the budget store clothing. I have decided to try and educate people as much as I can regarding the differences in ear candles. In my certification classes, I have my students look at our candles vs. others...just looking at them is enough. But I also show them what comes out of others candles in our class...not much. They either look like long, skinny pencils with a very small opening (usually made by machines), or like a fat cigar with a very skinny opening. The skinny opening ear candles are not made correctly, as the vacuum cannot pick up as much debris when the opening is this tiny...it also clogs the opening very quickly.
I will be blogging probably every month with my experiences in my practice, to help those of you who might have questions about the ear candling experience. If you have any questions you want answered specifically, I can blog about it for everyone. Just email me at: InnerlightConnection@hotmail.com
